Metaphor Corner

On this website we highlight ACT metaphors and exercises created by the UK ACT community. One of the advantages of the ACT model and Relational Frame Theory is that they allow you to be creative in developing all sorts of exercises and metaphors, while remaining theoretically coherent and consistent with ACT processes.

Some recent metaphors highlighted on this blog:

Demons on the Boat

Car Stuck in the Mud

Chessboard Metaphor

The Unwanted Party Guest

The Sailing Boat Metaphor

If you have a home-grown metaphor or exercise that you’d like to see on this website, we’d love to hear about it. Please get in contact and submit your ideas!:
